A sure sign in our home that summer is gone and fall is in full swing,
the Christmas Cactus is just about to bloom.
This vivid pink is one of my favorites!
We have a white one but the buds are still too small to really photogragh.
Next week I bet I'll get some photos of the white one.
This shot is almost identical to the next, but the focus is on the bud in the front.
The focus on the buds in the back this time,
hard to choose a favorite but I lean towards this one for some reason.
Perfection!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I am jealous, my cactus doesnt have a single bud, not even the beginnings of any yet this year. My plant blooms every Thanksgiving, but it doesnt look promising for this year. Anyway, love your shots.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. The cactus is so pretty!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I looooooove them! My favorite is actually the one where the foreground is blurred and the back is sharp, no clue why, just love it! :)
ReplyDeleteMy red one is at the same stage as your pink one....the white one will be later. I LOVE zygo cacti!
ReplyDeleteLove the color of those blooms!
ReplyDeleteI like doing what you did here too, focusing on various parts of an object and seeing which photo turns out the best. Personally, I can't decide. I like all of these!
Kristi, what incredible photos of your Christmas Cactus...which looks to have a great number of blooms! Seeing these pictures was a bit bittersweet for me as I have had my Grandmother's CC for over 20 years and it finally died this past summer. :-( I was gone for the summer and it didn't get enough tlc here while I was gone.... my poor husband sure heard it from me! I kept her plant going for many, many years though. It only seemed to bloom every couple of years. I might have to buy a new one and learn the whims of these beautiful plants.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas Cactus! I've got a couple that yes, always remind me that I better get to thinking about the holidays. Your shots are gorgeous!
