WBW - Yosemite Birds and more

Love this shot of this Acron Woodpecker just dropping from the tree branch, must be wonderful to fly!!

Acorn Woodpecker working hard to find just the right hole for this Acorn.

This is the Granary tree that most of my Woodpecker photos were taken on.

Red Tailed Hawk

These Dragonfly were flying all over the place, didn't think I was gonna catch a shot of any of them until this nice one landed in the grass. I believe it's a Green Darner.

Half Dome at sunset

Baby Bear on the side of the road, there was a mama bear too but I wasn't able to get many good pictures, this was by far the best.

Lots of Deer, these 2 fawn are my favorite photo.

Squirrel chilling out in the sun, so used to people, we didn't phase it until we got very close.

Tiny little squirrel.

  1. Very nice photos. Love the variety. I've been to Yosemite once in '94 as part of a cross country camping trip. We were there for the 4th of July.

  2. Wonderful photos! I love the woodpecker falling out of the tree and that baby bear is so cute! Yes, the two fawns pictures is great!!!!
I was at Yosemite once in '93. A friend of mine lived near Yosemite so we went before I left California. This was before digital camera's and I took about three rolls of film, not one roll turned out except for three pictures of the squirrels crawling on me for food :)

  10. Wonderful photos, Kristi! You must have had a glorious time! Could watch acorn woodpeckers all day long going about their business. Think your striped chipmunk is a lodgepole chipmunk - check out this link: http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/detail.asp?recNum=MA0134

  16. Yeah, you visited and shared Yosemite also. Was it not just awe inspiring!!! I love your images. We never got to see a bear, but we knew they were there. Love those Squirrel images. They seemed to know we humans meant no harm and they were quite cool chaps. Nice series~
