So much going on the last few years lately I feel overwhelmed and don't always get the most important stuff done. More often than not I feel like I'm spinning my wheels
My biggest priority for the last few months (ok most of 2012) has been to
put away, organize and inventory my beads,
tax time is almost here and I keep putting it off!
I did do much better at some of my other least favorite jobs last year, such as keeping track of expenses and receipts and that sort of thing, huge improvement there.

I'm almost embarassed to show you just a small part of my bead table but I'm sure I'm not alone.

I too am in a similar boat. I have been working to organize my studio as there was no time over the busy holiday season. Beads, tools and boxes of beads cover almost every inch of my design table! I think most beaders will nod in agreement when they see your photo-I know I did!
ReplyDeletegreat pics for a great word! i wish you luck with those beads... i bet there are some real treasures in there :)
ReplyDeletei'm no. 21 on the list btw :o)
That is a great word and your photo is a great representation. I am not brave enough to show everyone my work space, but it is so similar to yours. (I am, however, drooling over most of what is in that picture.)
ReplyDeleteJust when I do have everything put away ... I pull it all back out to work up another design! You got a lot of very beautiful beads there!!
ReplyDeleteNo you are not alone in the messy bead table. An old boss of mine once said 'An empty desk is the sign of an empty mind'. Of course that was after I griped about the amount of work he heaped on me each day. But his words still ring in my head after all these years. Just remember to focus as much on the things you do get accomplished or improved upon, as much as you focus on the things that don't get done.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with your bead table? Am I doing something wrong? Isn't it supposed to look that way?! It's a great word - one that I have always had problems with! I have problems writing lists because EVERYTHING should be number 1! Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteThat's some pile of gorgeous beads! It's so hard to get a handle on things, isn't it? Too many things to do, accomplish, participate in, etc. Sounds like you made headway in some areas. That's all that you can do-keep moving forward.
ReplyDeleteI just think you should give me all those goodies on your bead table and I won't tell a soul - promise!! :-) Love your word,....it's up there on my list of 'words for the year' actually!!
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone!
ReplyDeleteI am in a very similar place as well, to the point that I'm trying to organize and clear out stuff I know I'll never use simply to make space to work.
ReplyDeletePrioritizing - figuring out which are truly the most important, best uses of our time and energy - is one of the most difficult things to do! I wish you all the best, and maybe if I'm lucky, some of it will rub off on me as well. :)
Love that image of the bead table - and I agree with Regina - you aren't alone!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Yes, those do seem like they need to be on top of the list! Lets sort them by color and then by shape and then by size and then by date and .... that's how my organization plans fail right in my head, lol :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Kristi, you can do it!
Kristi...I am right with you. My dining room table is PILED with Christmas decorations that need packing away. Prioritizing is a definite challenge for me too.
ReplyDeleteThat is another word I probably should have chosen! I don't make jewelry, but my sewing table is covered in stacks of fabric, spools of thread, and all sorts of sewing "stuff".
ReplyDeleteLove that picture! It looks so familiar... So what are you tackling first? Put on good music, pour a coffee - you've got this!
ReplyDeleteGood word, and familiar site!
ReplyDeleteKristi, I haven't seen the bottom of my work bench in awhile! That is probably why I have moved to creating stuff at the dining room table! I think that it is so difficult to prioritize, there always seem thing else pulling you in another directions! Take it step by step, well inch by beaded table inch! :)
ReplyDeleteTotally with you Miss Kristi! I have to say that my studio is the same, and my attempts at paperwork organization is on the same path. This week I have to tackle the dreaded sales tax monster. I am hoping to breathe deeply through this week! Prioritize is a great word. I wish you joy in the journey in 2013. Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteGreat word Kristi and one I'm sure many of us can relate to, I know I can. I need to excavate my worktable to even find the beads hiding beneath all the clutter that has taken over!
