I am not sure what the above bird is, I think it's a Song Sparrow.
I've been hearing it's lovely call for awhile now
and finally found what seems to be it's favorite spot to perch and sing.
He stood there on one leg for a long time while I moved my camera around and got closer and closer.
It was quite a challenge to get this shot through all the branches
and catching him in the middle of his song!

Junco |
This Junco was in this spot on the top of the fence for the longest time posing for me!
I had lots of fun with the birds this week!
I'm fairly new to identifying birds so feel free to let me know if I've got it right.

ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Kristi! I like the brown on that chickadee and Juncos are a favorite, although I didn't see any over the winter.

ReplyDeleteKristi, I've been following your bird posts (as well as the others). I am a birdwatcher and I just got a new camera. I may have to join you in posting bird pictures!!

ReplyDeleteThese are all very special shots. Fantastic details.
ReplyDeleteGreat birds! I think the chickadee is a chestnut-backed chickadee. It is beautiful. Lovely birds and photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and I really like the one where you caught him in the middle of his song.
ReplyDeleteI'm new to identifying them too. This little guy is a sweetie sitting there singing away. I've never seen a chestnut backed chickadee so I'm so glad you shared it.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
Very nice series, I especially like the geometry of the chain link in that last shot!
ReplyDeleteLovely little bird friends you have around you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots -- can almost hear them singing. I'm just an amateur on IDing, but can tell you from experience that WBW people are great at helping (just like most birders I meet in real life, virtual ones are always happy to share their knowledge).
ReplyDeleteSweet images of equally sweet birds!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the beautiful birds.
ReplyDeleteLove to hear them singing.
I am fairly well versed in our local birds, but I am seeing things I didn't even know existed in this meme. I love the Chestnut Backed Chicadee. All of your pictures are very good. I also love your jewelry and am an avid Etsy follower. I will have to start following ArtFire as well. Your workmanship and designs are wonderful. This is my first visit to your blog and really enjoyed it.
