Even so I learned so much and had a great time with old friends and new!! Thanks Deb Fitz for the opportunity to learn something I've wanted to for a long time. For each meal we all chipped in (especially Judy and Jo) and had fantastic meals, thank you ladies! I would also like to re-create some of these meals at home. A full service workshop, enameling and cooking!! It was great!
I was able to make the all important test strips the first day, for some reason the only pic of my test strips I took with my phone, it's a terrible picture so I'm not posting it here.
And the second day I managed to put my first layer of color on a pair of earrings.
Before they went in to the kiln
And after the first firing. They probably need at least 2-3 more layers with alot of shading to blend the colors together. I think they look promising!
I also worked on a pendant that was ready to go in to the kiln, at that point I dropped it and so much of the enameling came off I had to wash it off, that's as far as that one got. I think it was going to be pretty so can't wait to give it another try.
Here is our fun work space with Linda, Sue and Judy working away.
Hope to have a part 3 to this post when I get some of the enamels and finish my earrings at home and hopefully lots more pieces to come.
