BIG White Copper

Continuing with my BIG theme I ran out of Copper last week so I broke out the White Copper and I love the results. I re-created some of my favorites and they are gorgeous!

Typically I make earrings all the time so typically I make earring components when I create with copper. But I had a show coming up and I wanted to break out of my earring pair mode and make some statement focals. I do make focals from time to time but I wanted these to be different, for one thing I put bails on all of them instead of jump ring holes.

We're All Ears :: October Reveal

I love Project Runway, in fact I just finished watching last nights episode!!

So I really wanted to participate in this one!

I call these

"A Study in Darkness"

All the looks and the models are long and lean so I wanted to create something similar.

They are all dark as well and these earrings are definitely dark but lots of irridescent colors which go well with the subtle purple and bergundy of all the looks.

We're All Ears Challenge Reveal

So I consider these earrings to be somewhat Serendipitous because I got a special order for these components. While I'm in the process of making them I take a look at the We're All Ears Reveal today and I thought...the shape and texture of these earrings actually mirrors the challenge picture in some ways so off I went!

I had a short piece of Sari Silk that had beautiful muted colors in Autumn shades that reminded me of the colors of the Canyon.

So I wrapped the Silk around the top of the components and decided a tiny bit of sparkle would be a good addition so I roughly added the seed beads in the same colors around the silk.

I think I'll call these earrings Serendipity!

I'm very happy with the results and I think I'm going to try to make more with different colors!!!
