Wild Bird Wednesday

We were lucky enough to spend another weekend in the Reno
and discovered another great birding area, Rancho San Rafael Park.
They've done a beautiful job, lots of different types of walking/hiking and LOTS of nature, I think it will be one of our go to spots especially since it's so close to the city.

The first time we went I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful Juvenile Red Tailed Hawk on a fence on the border of the park.

In another area of the park I came across this Juvenile Red Shouldered Hawk,
I get to add this one to my list!!

Only a few feet away from the Red Shouldered Hawk was this gorgeous Rufous Hummingbird.
There were lots of birds either perched or flying very close to the hawk,
I suppose they are keeping a close eye on it's location.
The light caught it just right and very pops the color on it's back.

Another new bird for me, the Western Kingbird! I'm very lucky to get this shot, it was quite a distance away and I was perched on the side of a hill but I got an ok picture of it, enough to get an ID.

While not a bird who can resist a cute old Bull Frog.
There were 3 of them croaking away and this one was the closest and was a very cooperative subject.

AJE Earring Challenge Reveal #13 weeks 27-28

The time flies by between reveals.
It's week 13 and here is the AJE Earring Challenge REVEAL!!

My first pair is all about purple.
Purple Polymer Clay Flowers paired with gorgeous Purple beads from Wandering Spirit.

Purple Passion Flower Earrings

The gorgeous firey Lampwork headpins are the star of the show on my second pair.
I teamed them up with some Ammonite bits in Polymer Clay at a 90 degree angle.
Then a small orange Lampwork bead and a tiny bone bead top them off.
I can't remember the artist who made these amazing headpins,
I hope somebody can tell me so I can give proper credit!

Fire!
As the day goes on more and more people will link up (below) so check back to hope around and see all the beautiful creations.

Just listed and Coming soon

Polymer Clay on the brain lately.
I spend most of the morning making and listing and I think I've about had it for the day.
So here are some of the newly listed bits and some that I'll probably list tomorrow.

Today was a yellow and orange kind of day.
These Roses above and discs below have dark accents.

The Poppies below with white!

Here's something that's neither yellow or orange, something new that I love in this neutral shade.

And the last ones that aren't listed quite yet I used lots of color!

What color shall I choose next?
Any requests!!
I'd love to hear what you think about these new pieces,
constructive criticism always welcome!

Don't miss the AJE Earring Reveal
coming up late tonight early tomorrow!
