Studio Art

I've been looking for a piece of art to hang in my studio since I moved in to this room.
There is one large wall and I've had nothing but a clock on it all this time.
I saw this at Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago and finally went back and purchased it.

It's still in the box so I cropped out quite a bit of the edges
and the photo does not really show it to it's true beauty.
The colors are so vivid and happy and I adore all the shapes.
I can't wait to put it up on the wall so I can see it every day.

I'm also have a sale in my Etsy shop to celebrate reaching a huge milestone!
I recently passed the 1,000 sale mark,

I Heart Macro - The Big Thaw

I used to be really good at having my Macro shots ready ahead of time,
lately it seems like I'm one of the last to join in.
Must do better!

This is the last of the melting snow on top of a huge moss covered rock we have in our yard.
I love what's left of the snow and the adorable moss slowly being uncovered.

Happy to see some things are budding, I hope they survive what's left of the winter.

Wanna see more Macro, check out

I'm All Hearts

Flower Burst

Here it is, mid January and Valentines day not far away and I hadn't even thought of it.
Until this week, when I made sure to create some Hearts in my last batch of copper.
The hearts above are Pendants but are not so large that they can't be used as earrings.

Paisley

These pendants measure approximately 1" with 2 holes.

Imperial Garden

Urchin

This one above actually only has 1 hole, the rest have 2.
And now for a few earrings pair.

Flower

The earring pair measure about 5/8" and have a single hole.

Paisley

I do wish I had made some with 2 holes,
I think that would have given a whole other design choice.

Urchin

Now that I've shared them,
it is possible at least some of them have been sold before being listed.

Keep an eye on my Etsy Shop and I'll list whatever I have left.

Thanks for stopping by, let me know how you like my hearts.
I may even make more if they are well liked.

Kristi

PS, I am watching Masterpiece Theater,
 Persuasion to be specific,
I feel my speech is now quite proper! :)

Bead Table Wednesday - Palooza

Disc Palooza!!
I'm loving the discs I've been making so much I churned out quite a few in a number of different textures.
Urchin, Ammonite, Paisley and more.

And Ring Palooza too!
There are alot more of these but taking photos is challenging right now I have to do it on the floor next to the window and my girls try to help. None of the other pictures turned out lol.

With Valentines Day around the corner I thought I'd better get some Hearts ready.
Here are some pendants and I do have some earring pairs
but again my lovely assistants made them almost impossible to get.

I typically take my photos outside but below is the reason I'm not able to do that at the moment.
What I'm sure will be called the big snow storm of 2012.

It's been snowing almost constantly for 2 days, today it's mostly been very fine wet snow.

That's little Shasta bounding her way through the snow,
she's fairly close to the house so it's not quite so deep there.
Shasta is about 10 pounds.

Above is Ginger, this is her immitation of a snow plow!

I just love paw prints.

We're out of power at the moment for the second time today.
Thank goodness my lovely husband put a generator in when we moved in to this house!
So with a few exceptions it's almost normal.
I'm hoping to get the kiln going but I certainly don't want to start it while we're on generator.
And I hope once I do that the power stays on long enough for it to finish.

52 pair of Earrings a Year

http://www.etsy.com/listing/90618427/copper-urchin-discs-and-lampwork-glass

I recently joined the 52 Earrings a Year group on Flickr.
These earrings were my most recent contribution.
I love how these discs turned out and I'm making more in this and other textures.
Got some Mehndi, Paisley and Ammonite as well as other Urchin textures.
So many possible ways to create with them.

Copper...What Else!!

Yup, you can count on seeing copper if you hang around my blog.

I had a rather large special order I'm finishing up, trying to make other stuff at the same time.

Like more rings, I love these rings so I tried a few new textures.

And the bead caps or end caps, very time consuming.
I'll be using a set of these on my Copper Blog Hop coming up on February 4th.
I pair will be available in my shop soon.

I hope to have more time to make more of both of these new elements in the coming weeks.
Now...
Time to sit at my bench and clean up all these soon to be treasures
in hopes of getting them in the kiln tonight!

Magical Mauve

http://www.etsy.com/listing/90490135/copper-rings-and-microfaceted-mookaite

Magical Mookaite!!
When I saw these amazing and unusual Mookaite Dew Drops I snatched them up as fast as I could.
I just recently started making these rings and I think they make a perfect combination.

How about a nice old fashioned head of cascading ringlets with these earrings peaking out from behind

Like this!

I know that's a little girl but the color and style was so perfect for what I wanted!

Then there is this Fab Mauve Purse.

Copper Macro

These are Copper Ammonite Components I'm making for my Component Blog Hop coming up next month. I think we have about 18 people and I had to make a bunch on pre-order because I quickly ran out of the few I made at the start. I am happy that so many people wanted to participate.

Here they are right out of the tumbler,
I'll be torching them and hoping to get wonderful color from the copper before I mail them out.

I couldn't even fit them all in the kiln last night, I'll be firing another load tonight!

Here's the host of our little weekly Macro Party at
