It's been a few weeks since I've shared so I have alot of pics
both from my backyard and out and about.
What appears to be a one legged Spotted Towhee but it may just have it's leg tucked up to keep warm, it hopped around this way for a long time so I'm not sure.
Pileated Woodpecker flapping around in an effort to not let the group of crows that are milling around push it out, but it didn't last long. I actually don't have many crows often but yesterday I had a large group coming in to the yard numerous times.
Beautiful little Female Varied Thrush! So rare to get an unobstructed shot.
Male Varied Thrush. Several times he perched on the top of the chain link but never for long, I don't know how many times I tried to get it's picture but before I could focus in on it he would pop to the ground.
Still I love this picture!
One of my beautiful little Anna's Hummingbird that are staying with me for the winter.
Peek A Boo!!
The first Hairy Woodpecker I've seen in my back yard, she hung here for a good 15 minutes.
I recently discovered a good area for birds not far from my house. It's at a wastewater treatment plant called
Brightwater. They have done a nice job naturalizing and even though the much of the vegetation is still immature there are lots of birds hanging around. I'm really looking forward to seeing what spring brings and what it will be like in a few years as it matures.
This lovely little Female Mallard gave me a beautiful photo op, she is posing perfectly and her reflection in the water is stunning!
Great Blue Heron quite a distance away on the opposite side of a large pond.
Caught it with a rare ray of sunshine on it.
Double Crested Cormorant. This photo was actually from a few weeks ago, this area of the pond is frozen over and I didn't see him yesterday.
Male Bufflehead and Male Green Winged Teal
