October Component of the Month Reveal

Time for the October Component of the Month REVEAL!!!
I'm so excited to have provided this cool Ammonite Component to everybody to make their creations!!

Here's what I made with mine!

I purposely chose the piece with the big crack in it,
I love it and think it adds to the personality of the texture.

I braided Sari Silk over heavy copper wire for the frame of the sides and used one of my rings for a sort of hook and eye closure.
I'm still toying with the idea of adding some little dangling baubles to this piece.

We've got an amazing group of talented artisans playing along this month, please take a look and I know they would love to hear what you think of their creations!

Casting

For the last couple of months I've been collecting the things I need to start Pewter Casting. I found this tutorial by Anvil Artifacts that does it in a different way. I still intend to start casting in Pewter but right now I'm having fun playing with this technique using Lead Free Base Metal.

Here are a few of my very first pieces.

And I love headpins like so many of you out there do so I had to try some headpins. I took some polymer clay pieces and made molds of them and then cast them.

Included are 2 pine cone tops I recently molded and I'm making some Copper pmc pieces from them as well. But while I was looking through my molds to see what I might be able to play with these seemed an obvious choice and they turned out well.

I couldn't resist using the little round Ammonite headpins to make earrings.

I added some of my favorite little O'Sullivan beads and a tiny bit of Sari Silk.

Earring Challenge Reveal #20 Weeks 41-42 /52

It's hard to believe we're coming to the end of the year of Earring Challenges.
I believe we've got only 10 weeks to go!

Here are my 2 Earrings Creations for this reveal.

A Touch of Autumn

The first pair start with some of my Polymer Clay Ammonite Headpins,
strung with Peanut beads in a variety of autumn colors.

Double Snakeskin

The second pair start with some awesome Ceramic Tubes from O'Sullivan
with Copper Snakeskin Tabs dangling. I thought these were a great match up!

The next Reveal is on November 10th, don't miss it as we wind down the year.

Earring Challenge Reveal #19, Weeks 39 & 40/52

Time is definitely moving along swiftly these days. These last 2 weeks have been so busy I didn't get these earrings made until the last minute. One pair I made last night one I just made 10 minutes ago. But I really enjoy making earrings and taking part in this challenge so I made it happen....just barely!

Last night's creation are made with beads from Jen Camerona of Glass Addictions.
I really tried to show the beauty of these beads and I got close but not quite.

This morning I made earrings using amazing discs by Sue Kennedy of SueBeads. I've had a couple ideas brewing for these discs but when I pulled these little leaves out of my kiln this morning I knew the right pairing had finally presented itself.
Yes not only did I make the earrings this morning, the little leaves are fresh out of the kiln as well.
The leaves are molded from some Polymer Clay leaves I made recently.

I hope to get these listed today.
Don't miss the other creations of the past 2 weeks, the blog hop is at the end of this post.

Join us in 2 weeks for our next reveal.

Oh and I haven't named either pair, I always struggle with the naming part.
If anybody out there has a great name for either pair please share it, I'd love all the help I can get!
