WBW - Jays and more

It almost seems like I show you Stellar's Jay every week.
I probably do because they always give me something fun to photogragh.
Here's a young one working on a piece of corn!

Work that corn!!

Done with the corn, time to kick back and relax for a bit!

Look at all that fuzz!!

He hung out there for quite awhile.

Over the weekend I heard a hawk in the neighborhood,
I've never heard a hawk go on and on like that.
Fortunately for me he did because it gave me a chance to find him.
The first time I found him I didn't have my camera with me,
I got withint 50 feet of him and took a picture with my cell phone,
which of course was not very good.

He was on one of my neighboring properties so I actually have to climb over a fence to get pictures,
I did ask permission to do just that.
I heard him a little later that day and this time I took my camera.
I was quite far away this time because he was on somebody elses property, that I didn't have permission to be on. Thank goodness for my 500mm, I know I'll catch him in his original spot again, I've heard him numerous times but haven't had a chance to climb the fence again.

I'm assuming this is a Red Tailed Hawk? Since I've seen them flying over my house quite a bit.

While I was running around trying to catch this Hawk,
I was lucky enough to my first photo of a Spotted Sandpiper.
They were giving me what for so I must have been close to their nest.

I also got my first photo of a Killdeer, at first I thought it was another Sandpiper.
Here he is putting on a show for me, I did not get a very good photo.

A very good week for me!!!
