Stu Stu Studio part 4

It's been awhile since I've posted a Studio Update. I've been somewhat limited on what I could do after my foot surgery but it's doing very well, physical therapy is helping. We're having family over on Christmas day so I really wanted to make a valiant effort to make it presentable. I over did it a little bit but I got alot done. I'm going to try to spend a little time every evening finishing it up.

Here are a few pictures, before and after.

Stu Stu Studio part 3

We have decided to go to the next level with my new Studio. We decided that I would be very unhappy in the long run having a very high pile wall to wall carpet in my studio. So....before we paint and put all the furniture in and finish we completely emptied it out and took out the carpet and purchased laminate flooring.

So guess what we'll be doing this weekend...well since I can't walk yet I won't be much help. My wonderful husband will be installing flooring in my new room. If all goes well the room will have a new floor and maybe even have the furniture put in by the end of the weekend. Then I get the fun job of moving all my stuff from old room to new room. VERY EXCITED!!

Stu Stu Studio part 2

In my last post, among other things, I talked about and showed pictures of my future studio. Yesterday my accent wall got painted, I wasn't sure I was gonna like it but I really do!!

It's getting really tough not being able to walk, I would like to participate more in making over this room but since I can't stand or walk, I can't really paint and I really can't move furniture around, which is where we are right now. It'll be challenging but I have to attempt to pack up stuff out of the shelving unit in my existing studio so we can move it to the new room. My husband wants it to be done by next weekend...eeeeek!!

So, below is the new blue accent wall!!!!

And below is the maroon accent wall being taped off in preparation for primer, the blue makes a huge difference in the brightness of the room!!

Lovely Day

Other than the fact I'm approaching my last weekend of down time, it's back to work on Monday, just shy of 3 weeks after my surgery. I still can't walk but I'll roll around the office on my knee cart as best I can, probably half time for a week or so until I can begin to walk again.

But today is a lovely day because of a couple of wonderful things. My husband is working in my new studio as we speak, repairing the walls in preparation for painting. Hopefully it will be somewhat ready for me to start moving in/using by the time I can walk again.

Here is a very bad photo of what it looked like a few days ago. The couch, chair and possibly armoire will all be moved in to other rooms. All the cabinets will stay, I'll have tons of work and storage space and even space for friends to come over and play.

Above is a piece that was in our living room when we moved in to this house a little over a year ago and we moved it in to my studio, this is how it looked when we moved it the first time. Now it will be moved (for the last time) in to my new studio.
Last but not least!!!!!

I am featured in a wonderful blog!!!!! Happy Mango Beads is one of my favorite places to purchase beads. They have a fantastic selection and tons of amazing beads that fit my style to a T! Thank you Happy Mango for your awesome selection, service and support of your customers, we appreciate you!
