Featuring Gloria Ewing of Chrysalis Originals

This week I'm featuring another of my new online friends Gloria of Chrysalis Originals. I love her work, it's very earthy and tribal which is right up my alley!! Gloria has also used some of my components and she combines them beautifully with other Artisan Beads as well as stones and a variety of metal. As you will see she has even dabbled in Metal Clay herself and did a beautiful job.

Be sure to check out her website ChrysalisOriginals.com Etsy Shop Chrysalis Too
 and on Artfire Chrysalis Jewelry

Also be sure to keep up with all her news on her
Facebook Page and Flickr and follow Chrysalis Too on Twitter.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing a fraction of Gloria's beautiful creations.

Copper Drops

It seems I have a new obsession, I'm enjoying making drop components. Love the shape, and I can put 1 hole to 3 holes or even 5 holes on some of them. Trying to find new textures and designs to use on them.

Here's what I have created so far, all in my Etsy Shop!

I Heart Macro The Daisy and the Bee

This Bee was very patient with me. He was intent on the pollen all over his legs. I stopped and changed lenses several times and he stayed there. Then he suddenly had enough and flew away. I saw him come back a few times but he never stayed long enough for me to photogragh him again.

Then I thought it would be interesting to take pictures of all the phases of the Daisy, tight bud....

Featuring Janet Miller of Pink Poppy Studio

It's so nice to become friends with people you meet over the internet. Janet Miller is one of those people, we've found we have much in common outside of our love of Jewelry.

Speaking of Jewelry, Janet makes amazing creations and she uses some of my components as well which is a fantastic bonus for me.

Janet has both an Etsy Shop and an Artfire Studio, be sure to have a look at everything she has to offer.
You can also join her on her FaceBook Business Page

Here are just a few of our favorites!

BTW Copper Bowl

If it's Wednesday it must be Bead Table Wednesday!!!

Not a bead by any stretch but it is what I'm working on this morning, along with some amazing special order crosses and one other pair of earring components. I was afraid to fire anything along with the bowl so I chose just a couple of very large pieces and every thing survived beautifully!

I pulled them all out of the kiln early this morning and took the torch to them.

Here is that wonderful Copper Bowl, the first one I've made.
Taken from the new Monster Ammonite Fossil I recently received.

Below are the crosses I've had on special order for a few weeks, I wasn't able to make them the size she requested until now, you guessed it....the Monster Ammonite Fossil did the trick. These beautiful crosses are over 1.5" long, I hope she's happy with them.

Another of the larger pieces I felt safe firing with the bowl, 3 hole drops made with one of my long time favorite textures I call Aztec Sun.

Just because I think it's so cool,
here are more pictures of the Copper Bowl.

Take a look at what my friends have in the works on this

Copper Bowl

Today was the day I finally played with my new Monster Ammonite. Before I even started I had in my mind what a cool little bowl I could make with it so it's the first thing I did. I rolled the clay out in a totally random shape them molded it it. I love how it turned out, almost looks like a flower.

I'm a little nervous to fire it, I've never fired anything this big.
It might have to fire by itself, I'd hate to ruin components.
I may try it tonight so hopefully I'll have something to show you tomorrow.

A Swing With a View

Yesterday morning, the first day of My Week Off.
I spent almost an hour on the swing, I'll be going out there again this morning.

It was so nice and relaxing and Ginger spent almost the whole time in my lap. Shasta is our resident watch doggie, all 9 pounds of her. She got up and down a half a dozen times but towards the end she stayed up for a fairly extended time.

We were visited by a hot air baloon, it was nice enough to stay quite some time in the only patch of sky I could see from my swing. Even when it was out of sight I could hear the blow of it's bellows as it fired up to keep itself afloat. I'm wondering if it's out there every morning, I guess I'll find out.

Shasta up front Ginger in the back.

Shasta the ever watchful guard dog.
As my husband says, she's the man!!

Ginger the professional snoozer, it takes alot to get her barking,
she usually does these quiet little woofs.

There's the hot air baloon making an appearance again after disappearing for awhile.

The view of the wonderful island that give us our lovely privacy.
While I was out there I wanted to see what kind of photos I could take from my spot, I brought  my 18-55mm so I could take pics of the girls on my lap and I brought my 55-200mm so I could take some longer shots. Got some Faux Macro shots of the fushia baskets and more of some of the other plants a bit further away.

Ginger was so comfy she didn't want to get off the swing, even after I left.

I'm off to the swing again this morning, it's not nearly so pretty this morning but I'm sure we'll all enjoy it just the same.

Thanks to everybody who left me comments on yesterday's post, some I have already tried some I have not. I appreciate you all taking the time to express your warm wishes and make suggestions more than you know. THANK YOU!
