Bead Table Wednesday

Had pretty much accepted the fact that I was gonna miss this weeks BTW, was closing down my computer and about to leave for work when I spotted the sun shining through the window on to the table I had to take a minute to photogragh it and post it. Makes me long to stay home and sit in the sun and play.

Lots O Copper!

All the pieces I hope to fire tonight, I've got lots of cleaning to do when I get home.

ABS May Challenge

This months Art Bead Scene Challenge inspiration is a beautiful piece by Berthe Morisot. This wonderful piece is an Oil on Canvas, 18 1/4" x 21 3/4" called Cache-cache (Hide-and-Seek). It's lovely soft feminine beauty is a wonderful inspiration.

I chose to pull out the little red flowers in the tree as my focal and include the soft muted greens of the grass and surrounding area and add little bits of subtle color all around.

A wonderful Red Flower by Mary Harding Jewelry
is the focal with a bail of silk ribbon in shades of green.

A couple of gorgeous Lampwork beads by Karen at LibelulaDesigns.

Lovely Copper Beads from Rings &Things

And wonderful faceted Agate in that lovely pale green,
with glass beads in greens and reds and a handmade Copper Clasp to pull it all together.
I just had to add a couple of little silk ribbon accents as well.

As always this was a fun challenge, take a look at all the other wonderful entries for this month on the

I Heart Macro - Rainy Morning in the PNW

One thing about rain, it gives you the opportunity to catch droplets of rain on newly spring growth, like this...

Watch for these, not yet listed! I call them Snakeskin and talk about unusual. The texture is so cool, pulled from a Sputnik Sea Urchin. I'll list them this weekend for sure.

There's lots more in the DIY (Design It Yourself) Section in my Etsy Shop and there's always a page link at the top of my blog!

Copper in the Tumbler

Copper out of the kiln tonight and in to the tumbler. It looks so gnarly right out of the kiln sometimes, I LOVE IT!!! But soon it will be shiny and ready for me to take the torch to it and bring out all it's lovely brilliance!!

New and old textures, trying some textures you've seen on some new shapes, always tweaking just a bit to see what looks good. And of course more of what seem to be your favorites, which makes me very happy!

Watch for photos and listings in my Etsy Shop throughout the weekend!

Something Manly

My husband fabricates a few Automotive Parts and I had to pack one up to ship this morning after he left for work. I use his computer to ship my items too so there is a pile of my pretty handmade envelopes, yarn and packaging supplies on the corner of his desk. I thought, how funny would it be to send one of his manly automotive parts (said in a deep manly voice) in one of my cute and frilly handmade envelopes (said in a girly girl voice) to one of his customers.

Here's what it looks like...

We both ROTFL at this, he said
"I could just see some of my customers getting that!!!
 What would they think?"

I hope you get a chuckle from it too!

Oh and if you'd like to see how I make these Pretty little Handmade Envelopes take a look at my
 Packaging Blog post

BTW and ABS Challenge

It's that time of week again, time for Bead Table Wednesday.

This one has been on my table for nearly a week and in my head a little longer, I haven't been feeling well lately so I haven't been doing as much as I'd like. It's my piece for the Art Bead Scene May Challenge. and I hope to have it finished during the weekend if not before.

The focal is a gorgeous Mary Harding Jewelry creation, that red flower is gorgeous!!! There are only tiny little flowers in the inspiration piece but I chose to showcase it, all the other colors in the necklace are wonderful compliments to that focal including a few Lampwork beads from Libelula Designs! I'm also FINALLY using the copper beads I won from Rings & Things.

Take a look at what others have on their bead table http://www.flickr.com/groups/1601463@N21/
