Copper Bowl

Today was the day I finally played with my new Monster Ammonite. Before I even started I had in my mind what a cool little bowl I could make with it so it's the first thing I did. I rolled the clay out in a totally random shape them molded it it. I love how it turned out, almost looks like a flower.

I'm a little nervous to fire it, I've never fired anything this big.
It might have to fire by itself, I'd hate to ruin components.
I may try it tonight so hopefully I'll have something to show you tomorrow.

  2. Wow, that's huge and a lovely design. I think if I were firing it, I'd be tempted to give it an extra long hold time just to make sure the whole thing gets sintered all the way through. Also, I think a piece this large will need to be fired by itself so it doesn't get robbed of carbon. Or rob the pieces around it. It's going to be a big reduction sink. Don't you just love it when you get unsolicited advice :-) Good luck!
